IO Challenge- Celebrate You
I have to admit, I really love when the challenge is to make a card for yourself. It is rather fun to choose elements that you like or ones you are in the mood to use.
Today was an unusual day for me because attended a funeral at Arlington National Cemetery for the first time. It was incredibly moving and poignant. Although the service was for a man who lived a good long life, you couldn't help but think about all the people who are burried there. It is a bit overwhelming.
When it then came time to make a card, I was in the mood to make something with bright, neon colors. I needed something that was a lot lighter and fun. I also chose a sentiment that really spoke to me...especially today.
For the background, I combined two different Cover a Card backgrounds- Rolling Waves (CC123) and Circle Fusion 2 (CR002). I then added some leaves in green ink (Silhouette 2 E5552) and some neon butterflies cut from the Butterflies Set dies ( DIE046-A). To finish the card, I added some stickles to the butterflies for sparkle and added the Practice Happy Thinking sentiment (D14256).
