Impression Obsession Team Favorites

Greetings friends. Today the design team is sharing their favorites from the January release. If you would like to see all the designers' projects, you can find them on the Impression Obsession blog.

My favorite product from the new release is a clear set called "Paint Power." This is what it looks like:

I think it would appeal to a lot

I think it would appeal to a lot of people who enjoy making an inky mess. My first card was quick and easy. I simply stamped my splotches in multiple colors and colored my paintbrush with watercolor pencils and a blender pen.

For my second card, I created a watercolor background and then cut out my paint tube that I had colored with Copic markers. Both cards took hardly any time, and I really like having a stash of cards to send to my crafty friends.

Greetings friends. Today it is time to share with you the brand new October Limited Edition Red Rubber kit.  This is what the kit looks like. It is loaded with images for fall and Thanksgiving:

I have two cards to share with you using the new kit. I used decorative paper and a tag die on the two cards, but it is very important to me to only use stamps from the kit to make the samples. I wanted to make sure that if you wanted to recreate anything, you would have all the images to do so.

For the Turkey card, I cut out a white tag and then added my turkey and sentiment on top using black Impression Obsession ink. When the ink was dry, colored the turkey with some watercolor pencils and a blender pen. The blender pen has glycerin in it and therefore doesn't warp the paper as much as a paintbrush and water would. For the background, I used paper from the Fall Floral 6" x 6" pack. I knew they would all coordinate well with each other.

For my second card, I used the same exact tag, but this time I stamped the image with black Memento ink and colored it with Copic Markers. I then popped up the tag with a little bit of foam tape. The background of this card is from the Autumn Scenes 6" x 6" pack, which I thought paired well with the corn:

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you will stop by again tomorrow for inspiration in using the rest of the stamps from the October Kit.

Impression Obsession Patterned Paper

Greetings friends! Today some of the Impression Obsession designers are sharing projects using some of the new Impression Obsession patterned papers. You can find a complete list of participating designers on the Impression Obsession blog.

The 6" x 6" packs are scaled for cardmaking, and there are already quite a few in the collection. More will be arriving soon.. If you would like to see all the patterned packs, you can view them here:

I love Halloween, and the Vingage Halloween pack really speaks to me. I used up some of my scraps to place in the Scalloped Nine Patch frame to really highlight each of the patterns. One of the nice thing about using a paper pack is that you know all the papers will coordinate.

For the bat part of the card, I stamped the moon and bat, which are both in the Batty Halloween clear set, using Impression Obsession black ink. I colored the bat using watercolor pencils and a blender pen so that I had a bit more control over the paint than if I had colored it with watercolor paint.

Here is a close up of the paper and the colored bat:

This is what the papers in the Vintage Halloween pack look like:

Greetings friends! The June kit is here and is loaded with nautical-themed images in time for summer. My mom is a huge lighthouse fan, so of course, I had to start with the lighthouse image.

To make the card, I first started with a light blue notecard and stamped it with the Rainbow Scales Cover a Card background in Navy ink.

Next, I stamped the lighthouse and compass onto 140lb watercolor paper using black Verafine ink. I then colored the scene using a combination of waterolor paints and watercolor pencils with a blender pen. Watercolor pencil work really well for tiny areas that need to be colored and larger areas such as the sky work better with watered-down watercolor paint.

To finish the card, I stamped my sentiment with the same Navy ink as the background design.

Here is a close up:

These are all the images and coordinating sentiments that come in the limited edition June kit:

Blog Hop Winner and Unbearably Awesome Bear

Greetings friends.  The winners of  last week's Impression Obsession blog hop are going to be announced over on the Impression Obsession blog today.  We thought it would be easier to list all of the winners in one location.  To see if you are a winner, here is a link:

Even though the blog hop with the latest release is over, I wanted to share a card I made with two of the new stamps.

To make the card, I first used a rectangle die to emboss the shape of the die onto my card.  To emboss with a die rather than cut with it, you need to have one of those rubber mats that allows a die to press into the rubber rather than cut through to the plastic plate of your die cutting machine.

For the stamping, I added the new Balloon Bear and Unbearably Awesome images with black Versafine ink and then colored using watercolor pencils and a blender pen.  I love a one layer card!

Christmas is just around the corner, but I have already moved on to Valentines!  It is a good thing too because  Impression Obsession has a brand new Valentine release.
For my card today, I started with some 140lb watercolor paper and sprinkled it with some Colorburst powders and spritzed it with enough water to give it a mottled blue background.  Once the background was completely dry, I stamped the new  Dot Background G20417 in IO Peacock ink.
In the next part, I stamped the new Tattoo Heart (D19684) onto white cardstock with IO Black ink and then colored it with watercolor pencils and a blender pen.  to finish the card, I popped up the central panel and added a clear rhinestone to the heart banner.

IO Challenge- Tis the Season

Greetings friends.  Today's theme is "Tis the Season, and I was inspired to use a tree that reminds me  of the Charlie Brown Christmas tree.  That in turn makes me think of my brother and watching "A Charlie Brown Christmas" over and over.

To make the card, I used the Linus Tree C19633 and added the Comfort and Joy D19660 sentiment.  For the tree, I wanted to add a bit of color, so I colored it  with a bit of green watercolor pencil and softened the color with a Dove Blender pen.  To embellish the tree, I added a gold metallic marker to the star and a red gel pen to accent the ornaments. To finish the card, I colored the word "comfort" with the same green watercolor pencil and the word "joy" with the R32 Copic marker.

IO Challenge- You Take the Cake

Greetings friends.  Today's challenge is all about cake or any of your favorite desserts.  For me, I absolutely adore this cupcake martini stamp and often use it for birthday cards.

To make today's card, I stamped the Birthday Martini E2282 onto white cardstock with black Versafine ink.  I then colored it with watercolor pencils and softened the look with a Dove Blender pen.  I edged the rim and sides of the martini with a light blue pencil to give the impression of it being made out of glass.  To finish the card, I added some gold stardust pen to the candle flame.

IO Challenge- A Day at the Beach

Has everyone made it to the beach yet this Summer?  I grew up in a beach town, so I feel as though the ocean is always calling to me.

For today's card, I colored images using watercolor pencils since it seemed an appropriate choice to pair with beach cards.  I used a crab stamp from the IO Summer release named Carlotta (B19150) and paired it with the Everything's Better- Beach sentiment (B19157). If the beach isn't your favoritie, there is also these sentiments in a similar style:
Everything's Better in the Sun (B19160)
Everything's Better at the Lake (B19156)
Everything's Better at the River (B19158)
