Cherry Blossoms and Upcoming Class

Greetings friends.  As someone who lives in the DC area, I am always exited when it gets to be cherry blossom time.  It is so beautiful!  Cherry blossoms peak bloom time is estimated at April 8-12th this year, so it is time to start planning my trip in to DC.

For today's card, I started with a blue card and stamped it it with the Rose Leaves Cover a Card background using Ocean ink.

To make the white panel, I stamped the Cherry Blossom Stem onto white cardstock with black Versafine ink and colored it with Zig Clean Color Brush markers and a waterbrush.  As a final touch, I added a sentiment from the Flower Greetings clear stamp set with the same black ink.

Really easy card, but I love making projects that reflect the area in which I live.  Here is a closeup:

For those of you who are local, I wanted to announce an upcoming class that I will be doing.  It is the first class that I am offering since Angela's closed.

If you hadn't heard, Angela is a pastor at the Church of the Brethren in Nokesville, VA.  Their church has been raising funds this year for maintenance on the building and there will be a huge craft yard sale on Saturday, June 9th.  I will be also be teaching a 10 in 10 class twice on that day (same class).  I hope you will attend the event on the 9th and shop for some great crafting deals as well as support a great cause.  I also hope you sign up for one of my class sessions.  Here is all the information about the event:

It's happening! An Angela's Happy Stamper Papercrafting Yardsale/Fundraiser.

We hope you can join us for some stamping and shopping fun! It will be a great chance to shop for papercrafting yardsale bargains, support a great cause and reunite with the Happy Stamper family.

When: Saturday, June 9 from 9 am-3 pm

Where: Nokesville Church of the Brethren (13002 Fitzwater Drive, Nokesville, VA)
What: Stamping & Scrapbooking Yard Sale! Angela, Harriett, Deb and Susan will be here! In addition, the lovely Laura will offer her fabulous 10 in 10 workshop twice so that as many of you can attend as possible.

Nokesville Church of the Brethren, where Angela serves as full-time lead pastor, is in dire need of some major maintenance projects (including a new roof, re-paving the parking lot, a new boiler, new windows and more!), and is looking to members of the extended community for help. Here's how you can be a part.

Save the date and plan to attend. There is no admission charge, and there will be lots of fabulous bargains and grab bags for sale! These are some great items from the companies you know and love, including gently used items from Design Team Members. Cash and checks only, so come prepared.

There will be concessions on-site. All money raised through the sale of concessions will go to the church. So, you are welcome to eat-or, you can bring food to donate to the concessions sales or even work a portion of the time in the kitchen/concession stand as a contribution, if you wish.

Laura will be offering a 10 in 10 class featuring the latest in Impression Obsession and Memory Box products. The morning class is from 9:30-11:30 am, and the encore class is in the afternoon, from 1:00-3:00. The class is $35 and there are only 12 spots in each class, so don't miss out!  To sign up for a class session, email Laura at stampjournal@gmail.com to sign up for a spot and to arrange payment for the class.
