IO Blog Hop- Dies- Final Day

Welcome to the last day of the blog hop. Before I talk about today's card, I wanted to talk about the card I posted yesterday.  After I read the comments to the post, I realized that people didn't know that I used a die that coordinated with the daisies.  There was no fussy cutting involved...thank goodness!

Here is a picture of the dies I used to cut out the daisies:

I then used the clear daisy stamps to stamp on top of the cut-out daisies:

Very, very easy!

For today's card, I used a basket stamp with coordinating die as well as a chocolate bunny with coordinating die.  I also used an egg die as well as a grass border die.

  • Use a stamp positioner to stamp bunny in Chestnut Roan ink on top of cut-out bunny

  • Glue eye onto bunny and add a pink bow to the bunny.

IO Blog Hop- Dies Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of the IO die blog hop. Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by yesterday and left such nice comments.

For today's card, I wanted to use the new Paper Cone die. I used it with daisy stamps/dies, but really, you could put anything in the pocket. The nice thing about the die is that it adds a scallop edge and scores the paper so that it easily folds into a cone.

Stamps:
Daisies from the Impression Obsession Spring Medley clear set CL465
Impression Obsession Heartfelt Thanks B3928

Dies:
Impression Obsession Paper Cone  DIE040-R
Impression Obsession Daisies DIE072-F

Inks:
Black Versafine

Instructions:
  • Cut out daisies using white cardstock and dies (2 of each kind of daisy)
  • Stamp daisies onto cut out daisies using black Versafine ink
  • Color daisies with markers and a blender pen.  To do this, scribble a little of the marker color onto an acrylic block and pick up the color with a blender pen.
  • Highlight parts of the flower with some yellow Twinkling H20 paint and a waterbrush.  Hint…don’t add too much water or you will warp your paper
  • Cut out flower pocket with white cardstock
  • Put colored flowers into the pocket
  • Layer the pieces of the card and add some twine
  • Stamp saying onto the card.

IO Challenge- Favorite Technique

I think we all have a favorite technique to use on cards. For me, it is watercolor. I love the soft look you can get, and you really can't beat it for its blendability. For today's card, I used my watercolor pencils and a Dove Blender pen to color the new Sunny Sunflower stamp (H8986).  I then added the French Script Cover a Card (CC151) to the background, stamped the saying (Best Things C3639), and attached some butterflies I cut from the Butterfly Set dies (DIE46-A).
