Ocean Butterfly

With the weather we have been having, it feels like summer already. In any case, it has really made me want to make some summer-themed cards. The Ocean Butterfly is one of Leigh Hannan's new designs for Impression Obsession's summer supplement. Isn't it fun? I thought it paired up really well with Basic Grey's Lime Rickey paper.

To make the card, I stamped the butterfly directly onto some blue paper from the Lime Rickey collection using Black Memento ink. I colored the image with Copic markers and then added some green and clear Spica marker to parts of the butterfly to make it shimmer. Here is a close-up where you can see the sparkle better:

In other news, I just heard my cousin Susie started her own blog. She is a talented artist who makes (yes, makes) her own papers as well as binds her own journals. If you are into bookbinding, you should check out her work here.

Have a great day!

LOVE the butterfly! Leigh Hannan designs are fabulous. And you know how much I love all things ocean. (is that oceanesk? ocean-like? oceanarama?) Q

Popping the parts "make it work" perfectly!

As for Q's question - I'm voting for Ocean-a-rama!

You are so creative. I was going to order this and then thought I wouldn't know what to do with it. This is just so pretty. I like how your mounted the spheres and the starfish.
