IO Challenge- Come on Over (Invitations)

Greetings friends.  I wanted to use the brand new Cutlery stamp E13585.  It really could be used for so many occasions.  My front photo didn't really show the metallic quality of embossing it with silver embossing powder.  Here is a side shot:

Embossing it with silver really made it look more like flatware.  To finish the invitation, I also embossed the You're Invited C13592 sentiment and added some gold metallic patterned paper behind the invite.

I really love cityscapes, so I was inspired to try out the new European Buildings die.  I started by cutting out the building border using black cardstock and then glued strips of light yellow cardstock behind the windows.

For the background, I wanted to try creating a galaxy background.  I started with black cardstock, sponged several Distress Oxide inks on top and then lightly misted the piece with water.  Finally, I splattered the background with watered down white paint to give the impression of stars.

Here is a closer look at the background:

Greetings friends.  Today I am sharing a project from my upcoming quick and easy Halloween card class.

I started by cutting out a large cream circle and edging it with some silver chalk.  I then added the new Witch Line die.  That die is very intricate and so much fun to use.  Once I glued down the die, I colored the jack o'lantern face with a yellow copic marker, added some star sequins and stamped the Happy Halloween sentiment.  Easy!

Greetings friends.  For my card today, I used the new Floral Ornament die as well as some glitter and Copic markers.

I first cut the die from gold metallic paper and placed some super-sticky tape (from Elizabeth Crafts) behind the openings and covered the entire piece with ultra fine glitter.  This is what the project then looked like:

Next, I dabbed various glitter sections with an assortment of Copic markers. This technique works because I used really strong tape that held the glitter in place and used ultrafine glitter that didn't mess up my marker nibs.  Here is the colored ornament.  I hope you can see that the glitter shines through the Copic marker:

To finish the card, I popped up the ornament with foam tape, added a bow, and stamped a sentiment from the Holiday Words Cling set.

IO Challenge- Harvest Hellos (Halloween Colors)

Greetings friends.  Today's challenge is a Harvest Hello challenge, but with Halloween colors.  Orange/Black always works as a Halloween pairing, but I also really like purple and green.

To make my card, I first made a background using the Forest Snow Cover a Card image.  I stamped it with Versamark ink and then colored it with both green and purple Pan Pastel chalk.

Next, I stamped a sweet little owl called Hoot (B19611) and colored him with Zig Clean Color Brush markers.  Finally, I added a sentiment from the the CL783 Falling Leaves clear set.
