Chameleon Pens- 3 Marker Card

Greetings friends.  All this month, the Impression Obsession Design Team has been having fun with Chameleon Pens.  For each Friday in April, various members of the Impression Obsession team have shared projects using Chameleon pens and the Chameleon team shared projects using Impression Obsession stamps.  You can visit the Impression Obsession blog to see all the projects we have done this month.

Be sure to also visit the Chameleon Blog to see their teams projects and enter for a chance to win a set of 5 Chameleon pens!

For my card today, I only used three different pens to get all the various shades on my sunflower.  Here are the colors I used:

When you use Chameleon pens, you are able to get a gradient of color using only one pen.  Therefore, I used the yellow to color all of my petals, the green for the leaves and stem, and the brown for the center of the flower.  It is kind of nice to use one marker instead of multiple pens to get light, medium, and dark shades on your image.  Here is a close up of my flower:

IO Challenge- Happy Hello

A happy hello to everyone!  The dogwoods are in bloom in Virginia right now and they are so pretty. I can't decide if I like the pink or white ones better.

For today's card, I used some Distress Crayons on top of some gessoed cardstock to color my dogwoods.  For the sky background, I added some Tumbled Glass Distress Stain.

Stenciled Watercolor Birthday Wishes

Greetings everyone.  As you know, I have been doing a lot with the Color Burst Powders lately.  The theme for today's Impression Obsession challenge is "Birthday Wishes," so I decided to break out my Color Bursts yet again along with a stencil I hadn't used before.  It is a stencil from Stencil Girl called "Waterway" and the lines kind of reminded me of streamers.

To make my card, I placed the stencil onto watercolor paper and sprinkled it with Ultramarine Blue and Violet Color Burst Powders.  I spritzed it with water, let the colors blend and removed the stencil.  I made sure to flip the stencil over and press it onto extra paper to get a second print out of my stencil.  After all, there was a lot of paint and water on the stencil.  Why waste it?

Next, I cut out the Wishes (DIE364-E) out of white foam and sprinkled it with glittter.  You can't tell from the original picture, but it does sparkle:

I added a sentiment from the Wishes stamp set that coordinates with the die (MC657).  I embossed it in white so that you would be able to see it well on the card.

For the balloon, I cut it out from the Balloons die set (DIE359-R) and added a piece of die-cut acetate to give it the gloss of a real balloon:

Under the Sea

Greetings friends.  I am kicking off a blog blitz over on the Memory Box Outside the Box blog today.  I am really excited that there are new ocean-themed dies.  I know it is selfish of me, but my brother is a scuba diver, and I am thrilled to have dies that will make good cards for him.

If you are interested, head on over to the Outside the Box blog for more information on the card and for a chance to win the new Crusty Crab die.  Good luck!

Impression Obsession and Perfect LayersTool

Greetings friends.  Today is all about layers.  Lots and lots of layers.  The Impression Obsession team has paired with the Perfect Paper Crafting Company to talk about IO's stamps and the Perfect Layers Tool.  Here is what it looks like:

It comes as a set of two rulers that butt up against the piece you are layering so that you can easily give it a mat anywhere from 1/16" to 1/2"  There are 8 sizes total.  The nicest thing about it is that you don't have to measure anything.

Want to see all the layered projects?
Visit the IO blog to see the projects by the IO team and for a chance to win a $25 IO gift card.
Visit the Perfect Paper Crafting blog for a chance to see their projects and a chance to win a set of the Mini Perfect Layers tool.

Good luck!

For my project, I used Copic markers to color the Bailey Bunbun F19067 and added the Somebunny Loves B11024D sentiment.  Of course, I had to add a lot of layers to play with the layering tool.
