IO Challenge- Birthday

I'm not going to lie.  I was really happy the challenge was birthdays.  I am so far behind on making birthday cards that it isn't funny.  I hate being behind because I really want people to know how much I care about them.  Sending late cards isn't the best way to do that- even though it is a common problem for me.

For this challenge, I used the new Fishscales Cover a Card background (CC170) in Creamy Brown Chalk ink on both by kraft and cream cardstock.  The die cut saying is from the Greetings Top Edgers set (DIE234-M) and is attached to the kraft cardstock.  The butterflies are from a new die set called Medium Butterflies (DIE255-Y).

I started by coloring watercolor paper with various colors of watercolor paint:

I cut out two two sets of butterflies from the paper (some to use for another project):

For the finished card, I added some Stickles to the butterfly wings for sparkle:

IO Challenge- Love

Greetings!  In anticipation of Valentine's Day next week. the IO team is sharing love-themed cards today.  I wanted to share a couple of cards I teach in my Peerless Valentine watercolor class.

The first card uses a stamp that reminds me of Zentangle.  It is called A Friend Loves J15074.  I don't know if you can read the quote from the picture, but it says "A Friend Loves at All Times."

The second card uses the new Impression Obsession Heart Tree F15069.  I added a saying that was one of the first IO stamps I ever owned.  It is from one of their cling sets called Heartlines 3107-XL

I will be teaching the class again this Sunday at Angela's Happy Stamper in case you want to come.
