I thought I would continue the Valentine/color theme of my last card and post something I made for a Hero Arts Valentine challenge. I hate posting stamps that are discontinued, but I was limited in my Hero Arts heart options. Oh well!
To make this card, I stamped the heart onto white cardstock using black Memento ink and then stamped the bird inside using the same ink. I colored the heart and bird with Copic markers and then cut out the heart and layered it onto some Cuttlebugged cardstock. I realize "Cuttlebugged" isn't a word, but I kind of like it. My saying was a clear stamp so I was able to move it into the shape of a banner before I stamped my card. I think the wavy shape was a little more interesting than a traditonal straight saying.
On an unrelated note, I have a question to pose to you guys. Last night I was driving home and had the heat cranked to counteract the freakin' cold weather we have been having. I got it so warm in my car that I wanted to take off my coat. However, I couldn't do it becasue ever since I first saw Planes, Trains, and Automobiles many years ago, I have visions of becoming John Candy and having my arms pinned as I try to drive. It got me thinking about how movies/tv can affect the way we act. So, my question to you is "Do you alter your behavior in any way because of something you saw in a film or tv show?"
Call me curious!

Amazing coloring on the heart and bird - looks almost like it was printed, not stamped and colored.
I never say Beetlejuice more than once!
I love how you curved the words in the banner. Really striking! :-)
Great card! As for your question about what we see in the movies... I don't like to take showers when I'm alone in a hotel. Just remember what happened to Janet Lee in "Psycho"! (Shudder!) Q
Cute card, as for your curious question, I can't think of anything I saw in a movie that has made me change my behavior. You made me chuckle at the thought of you trying to drive with your arms pinned... ok that wouldn't really be that funny at the time, but later...
Love the Card Laura....So cute!
I can't think of any movie that has made me change my behavior?? Hmmm....
Ok I think I have two examples of my behavior changing because of a movie. (1) when I mishear someone talking I repeat the phrase "earn more sessions by sleeving?" - it's from the Steve Martin movie Roxanne. ; and (2) when ever there is a ridculous argument around me I'll say "There's no fighting in the War Room" while stamping my feet; that's a quote from Dr. Strangelove and was said by George C. Scott, which makes it even funnier to me. Oh and now, because of you (Laura)I can't hear "bear right" without following it with "left frog" and I haven't even seen THAT movie - so thanks for that!
Oh and I love your card!
Ummm...it is "bear left" followed by "right frog." And, how can you not have seen The Muppet Movie?!
I was just seeing if you were paying attention (ha).
Oh and there can't be a discussion on a baseball mound without me saying "candlesticks are nice" from Bull Durham. Since you posted the question I'm noticing more places in my life that are movie related. I love that!
It's the shower scene in Psycho does it for me. Except I even keep the shower curtain open alittle even at home!
Everytime I see a sunset, a tear comes to the eye and I think "Stay gold Ponyboy, stay gold". :)
