IO July Release- Day 1

Welcome to the July Release Hop!

July 8th, 9th & 10th The Impression Obsession Team will be sharing projects with NEW July Release products! You can find a list of participants on the Impression Obsession Blog each day through the event.

Greetings friends. I am very excited about the new IO summer release. There are so many new goodies to appreciate. Of course, with it being so hot, I thought I would start by sharing two cards that use the new Summer Sunshine clear stamp set as well as the Rays die set.

And this is what the new Rays die set looks like:

The Rays dies are a lot of fun because they cut little slits into the cardstock that look like the aurora around the sun or rays emanating from the sun. In both cases, they make really great frames on your card to focus on a central image. In my first card, I used the rays to surround my cute sun image. I colored each band of the die with the lightest shades of Copic markers I had. I used R0000, YR0000, Y0000, G0000, B0000 and V0000.

To finish card one, I added my sun and sentiment and colored the sun with more Copic markers.

For the second card, I used the rays again to add a bit of interest behind the sun. I colored the sun with Copic markers and then popped up the cloud with a little foam tape.
