IO Theme Day- Summer

We have set aside a day to share some fun themed projects! This month’s theme is "Summer."

Have fun checking out what our Designers have made today. Today's participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Greetings friends. For my summer theme, I made three cards using the new Take Me to the Sea stamps and dies. I also had to take a moment to work with the new Waves Cover a Card background. It has so many possibilities!

To make the card, I started with a light blue notecard and then stamped the entire thing with the Waves image in Baby Blue ink. Before I took the cover a card background out of my stamp positioner, I added the next darkest blue ink called Sky Blue onto the image and stamped it again onto my light blue notecard. I repeated this step a third time with the Navy ink. I wanted to get a subtle ombre effect. Here is a close up of the card and the inks from the Shades of Navy ink trio:

To finish the card, I added die cut fish colored with Copic markers and some clear jewels to look like bubbles.

For the second card, I used the same stamps and dies. This time, I stamped the entire background using Baby Blue ink. I wanted a really light background so that you could see the images well. I popped up each sea critter with some foam tape so that they have a bit of dimension on the card.

My final card is a super-quick 5 minute card using some of the new Impression Obsession 6" x 6" paper from a pack called "By the Sea." It has landscapes in it scaled for cardmaking. The Impression Obsession inks do dry on this paper, even though it is lightly coated, so I stamped my message with the IO black ink. Of course, I had to add some google eyes to my little crab.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
