IO Diecut Obsession

The IO designers have set aside a day to share some fabulous new Impression Obsession die projects! Have fun checking out what our designers have made today. Today's participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog.

I have two cards to share with you today:

The first card uses the new Stitched Coffin Tag. I plan to use this tag to attach to Halloween treats this year, but I thought I would also make it into a card. To make the tag, I cut it out of light grey cardstock, added some darker grey sponging around the edges and attached my twine. I then paired it with an embossed skeleton and added a sentiment from a Zombie clear set I previously showed you.

I know not everyone loves Halloween cards, so I thought I would also share a card with some fall root vegetables:

For this card, I cut out my veggies and then sponged a little extra color around the edges for dimension. The sentiment comes from a clear set called "Mixed Veggie Sayings." The set is loaded with coordinating sayings that are very punny, which makes me so happy:

The sentiment is layered on top of a round corner rectangle. That particular die is from a set of dies that is meant to provide various length backgrounds for your sentiments. Very practical.

Of course, you know I had to also stamp a background for my card. I break out the Mini Gingham Cover a Card stamp for a lot of fall and holiday cards.

Thanks for stopping by!

Playing with Silhouettes

Greetings friends. The current Impression Obsession Challenge is all about silhouettes. I thought I would share with you my favorite silhouette from the new release. It is called Graveyard Scene.

To make the card, I took some glossy cardstock, sponged some Distress Ink on top to create a sunset and finished by stamping my image in black ink. Really quick and easy. I finished by making it a slimline card (3 1/2" x 8 1/2") so that it could be mailed in a simple business envelope.

If you would like more information on the silhouette challenge and participate with us, you can find everything on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Greetings friends. There was absolutely no doubt in my mind which item I wanted to feature for the favorites day. The new Monster Set is so much fun! I'm not planning on delegating it just my Halloween cards. This set is going to be used year-round. I just need to match the perfect hat with it to turn it into birthday cards.

Here is what the set looks like:

If you hadn't already noticed, the Monsters line up well with the new googly eye set:

Unfortunately, the googly eyes are currently sold out, but keep a look out for them because they have lots of great sizes of eye (including an oval shape).

Another thing I want to talk about with my card is the use of my background stamps. I think you all know how much I love my Cover a Card stamps, so I used three different ones for the card. I really love the mix of patterns on the card. Of course, you can change the colors of ink you use for very different looks.

I used the Abstract Cover a Card in purple on a purple notecard and the Herringbone and Chevron to make the two strips on the card.

Overall, the card is fairly easy to make. You do have to die cut your monsters to make them "pop," but the card is basically inking and stamping....and of course, covering the whole thing in googly eyes!

Greetings friends. Another Halloween card for you today. This time it is a Halloween card that makes me laugh. Is that wrong?

I absolutely love the new the new Zombie Sayings clear set. They are just too funny! Here is what they look like:
To make the card, I first started by sponging and blending some Distress Inks onto white cardstock. I then spritzed the whole thing with water to give it a splotchy, mottled look. To finish the card, I stamped my zombie and spooky trees onto the card with black ink. The Creepy Trees background is a really good backdrop for creating your Halloween scenes. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Greetings friends. Today I want to share a couple of black cat cards using the new Black Cat Love stamp set in anticipation of Halloween.

For the first card, I paired one of the cats with the new cardboard box die. Of course the box would be perfect for a gift/birthday card, but is a box complete without a cat sitting in it?

To make the card, I cut out the box using kraft cardstock and added a bit of shading with a colored pencil along the edges. I stamped my cat in black ink on white cardstock, cut out the cat and stuck him in the box.

As a finishing touch, I added three strips of washi tape and my sentiment.

The second card is a quick and easy card. I started with a white cardstock panel, stamped three of the cats on it using black ink and added a little yellow to the eyes using a yellow colored pencil. I then layered all the pieces and added my sentiment in black ink.

Happy Halloween!
