Greetings friends.  Spring is coming!  It really, really is.   I get so excited to start stamping bunnies, eggs, and flowers.

For my card today, I created a background by masking the bottom and right side of white cardstock with strips of 1/4" Eclipse Masking tape.  I then sponged Distress Inks in the corner to give the impression of sky and grass.  I let the sponged color fade into white so that it was a subtle accent for my sentiment.

For the bunny, I stamped him onto 140lb watercolor paper with Zig Clean Color Brush markers and softened everything with a waterbrush.  Tip for coloring the bunny- color the outside edges darker and the inside parts lighter so that it looks like you have a curved head and body.  I took a class with Dave Brethauer years ago where he said it is very important not to color too darkly in the center of an animal's face, especially near the eyes.  He said that the animals often start to look a bit crazy if you color too darkly around the eyes.  That bit of advice has always stuck with me.  Plus, it is easier to see the eyes if you don't color too darkly.  Here is a closeup:

I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but the bunny circle and black matting behind it are popped up on the card with some foam tape.
