I really love cityscapes, so I was inspired to try out the new European Buildings die. I started by cutting out the building border using black cardstock and then glued strips of light yellow cardstock behind the windows.
For the background, I wanted to try creating a galaxy background. I started with black cardstock, sponged several Distress Oxide inks on top and then lightly misted the piece with water. Finally, I splattered the background with watered down white paint to give the impression of stars.

Oh, your galaxy background is just gorgeous!!! I made a galaxy background using regular Distress ink, but the more I hear about the Oxides and see them in action, I think I may need to invest in the set.

ReplyDeleteThis is how I first envisioned using the European Buildings die on a card -- with the lights shining through all those windows. Your background is perfect with the galaxy look and the stars. It looks as though I am really standing there looking up at the night sky loaded with stars. The variety of shapes to the building tops is so different from any other skyline die and I love it even more after seeing it on your card. This is truly a beautiful creation!
