Easy Peasy

Greetings everyone.  Today it is my turn on the Memory Box Outside the Box blog to show you one of their new stamp sets with coordinating dies.  I had the set called "Easy Peasy."  Of course, I have to finish the phrase with "easy peasy lemon squeezie" because that is what my brother and I used to say to each other.

If you would like the details on the cards, head on over to the Outside the Box blog for a detailed description.  The Outside the Box blog will be showing the new sets all week.  Visit the site for inspiration, leave comments and have a chance to win one of the new stamp sets of your choice.  Good luck!

Here is the address of the blog post in case you can't click on it in the description above:

IO Challenge- I Love You Man

Guy cards--- they can be hard sometimes.  I know I am always looking for new ideas, so be sure to check out all the designers to see how everyone designed cards for men.

For me, I wanted to use a color that I don't normally use for guy cards.  This time I chose to add a bit of yellow.  I probably should have tried pink, since it would have been even harder to add to my guy card!

To make my card, I stamped the new Roadster Grill image (F13454) onto kraft cardstock using Deep Brown Colorbox chalk ink.  I let the ink dry and then lightly colored parts of the card with a yellow and white Prismacolor pencil.  I spent about 30 seconds total coloring bits and pieces of the image.  I figured less is more when making a card for a man.  Here is a close up of the image, coloring, and pencils I used:

For the background,I stamped the Thick and Thin Cover a Card (CC008) onto kraft cardstock with Kraft Hybrid ink from My Favorite Things.

To finish the card, I stamped the Good Times sentiment (C14540) onto kraft cardstock with the same brown ink.  I cut out the saying, added a white highlight and then popped it up with some foam tape.

IO Challenge- Fanciful Florals

Who doesn't love floral cards?  They seem to work for every occasion.  For my card today, I decided to make a clear acetate card.  I stamped the Three Windows stamp (G2175) onto an acetate card from Hero  Arts using Black Staz On ink.  Once the ink dried, I colored the inside of the acetate card with an assortment of Copic markers.  I blended the "sky" areas with some Copic Blending Solution in a waterbrush so that it gave the card a bit more of a watercolored look.  Important....you have to stamp on one side of the acetate and color on the other side or your marker will take the Staz On ink right off of the card.

Next, I added a white piece of cardstock behind the acetate so that you could actually see the coloring.  I added a saying from the same cling sentiment set I used earlier this week on the cactus card.  It  is  called Everyday Quotes 2 (3153-XL) and it includes lots of great sayings.

Here is a close up of the coloring:

Off topic....for those of you who asked about my last card with the Distress Crayons and white ink on black cardstock, the white ink I used was the Unicorn white by Hero Arts.  Sorry I didn't include that information in my last post!

For today's card, I wanted to challenge myself a bit. I decided to use every stamp from a particular clear stamp set.  I have never done that before. I have always used a few stamps from a stamp set at a time.

Stamp set used- CL882 Doodle Flowers

To make the card, I used my MISTI stamp positioner and stamped all the butterflies, leaves, and flowers onto black cardstock.  I let the ink completely dry and then colored the elements with an assortment of Distress Crayons and Gelatos.  As you can see, it is a bit underwhelming:

The magic really happens when you put your paper back in the MISTI and stamp it again with white ink.  This is the end result:

It took quite a while for the white ink to dry on top of the crayons and Gelatos, but it did eventually dry.

For my card today, I used some of the new cacti stamps.  From left to right, they are:
Rabbits Hair C19187

I then added a saying from a wonderful new set called Everyday Quotes 2 (3153-XL)

To color my card, I started with 140lb watercolor paper, stamped the cacti with black versafine, and then painted everything with Peerless Watercolors.  Here is a close up:

I hope everyone has a good day.  It really is a good day to have a good day!
