Impression Obsession Die Cut Days

We have set aside a day to share some fabulous new Impression Obsession die projects! Have fun checking out what our Designers have made today. Today's participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Today I want to share two quick and easy seasonal cards using the same snowflake die. It is called Country Snowflake. I like it because it is a nice, solid die that gives you a more bold, graphic look. Sometimes snowflake dies can be really detailed and delicate. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but a solid snowflake is faster to adhere and can really show off a background well.

For the first card, I started with 140lb watercolor paper and let blue watercolor paint drip down the side of the card. I used water in a spray bottle to move the color around the paper. When the paint was dry, I added my snowflakes cut from light blue metallic cardstock and a sentiment stamped in dark blue ink.

For my second card, I made a slimline card using one of Impression Obsession's slimline stamps for the background. You ink up the solid part of the stamp, and it looks like you have a blue sky with snow falling. It is curved at the bottom so that it gives the impression of a snowbank. I added my sentiment in the same blue ink and then added my snowflakes and rhinestones. Quick!

Both of the cards are great for generic seasonal cards or could be adapted if you wanted to make Christmas cards.

If you think you can work around the minor flaws, it is a good way to pick up a stamp at more than half off. Here is a link to the flawed seconds stamp

Greetings friends! Would it surprise you to know my favorite stamp from the new release is a Cover a Card background? I am so predictable.

I want to show you a couple of ways to use the new Rainbow Scales background. For the first card, I stamped it with green ink onto green cardstock and cut it out to look like decorative grass. My house was colored using Copic markers.

I shared a version of the penguin card with you before. This time I changed out the snowflake background and added the scales instead:

I paired the scales background with the new Letters Cover a Card background, which honestly, was a very close second for favorite of the new release. It is a great background for an artsy design.

The penguin was colored with Copic markers, and both the penguin and sentiment are from the same clear stamp set.

Impression Obsession Theme Day- Winter

We have set aside a day to share some fun themed projects! This month’s theme is "Winter."  Have fun checking out what our designers have made today. Today's participants can be found on the Impression Obsession Blog

Greetings friends. Fall is still in the air, but winter will fast be upon us. Have you made any cards yet? Today I want to share a card using some of the latest images to make slimline cards.

To make my card, I started with white cardstock and stamped my treeline in dark green ink. I then sponged some blue PanPastel chalk above the trees to give the impression of sky. Next I added some bears to the foreground from the mini woodland animals clear set as well some birds from the same set to the sky.

Which animals would you have chosen for the scene?

Finally, I added my sentiment from the Winter Greetings slimline set. This set of images is currently on sale at Impression Obsession, so if you think it is something you would use for holiday slimline cards, not would be a great time to grab it:

Greetings friends. In continuing my theme of sharing some of the new crafting stamps with you, I wanted to share a sentiment that makes me smile. After all, don't we all wish for days like these?

To make my card, I started with 140lb watercolor paper and placed a small dotted stencil on top. I taped it down so that it wouldn't move and then added some texture paste to the top. I removed the stencil and then let all my dots dry. When the paper was bone dry, I added splashes of watercolor paint on top. I thought the paint gave it an artistic feel and helped bring out the pattern of the stencil.

To finish the card, I popped up my sentiment and cut out the scissors to embellish the whole thing.

Thanks for stopping by!

Greetings friends! I am so excited about the latest release because there are quite a few new stamps that are perfect for making projects for your crafty friends. If you were thinking about making stocking stuffers or cards for your crafty friends this year, you might want to give them a look.

For my card today, I wanted to use the cute new create stamp that is filled with all kinds of crafty tools. I made it into a card, but I really can see it used to stamp onto envelopes.

To make the card, I went through my watercolor scraps and cut out wavy lines to make stripes for the cards. Once I glued them down onto white cardstock, I stamped my image and colored it with some Prismacolor pencils. It was a quick and easy card, and I was pleased that it was an excuse to use some of my scraps. To finish the card, I added a few round dimensional stickers to the side.
