IO Summer Release Blog Hop Day 3

 Greetings friends.  Most of you know by now how much I love my IO Cover a Card backgrounds.  It wouldn't be a true hop for me if I didn't share one of the new designs with you.

To make my card, I created a background using an older and a new background stamp.  I started with white cardstock and then stamped the Clouds background on top with Sky Blue ink.  The clouds background gives you a really beautiful and realistic looking sky, but I was using it primarily for texture under the second stamp.  Next I stamped the new Mini Beach Print background using Navy ink.  Here is a closeup of the two backgrounds:

For my wavy background, I used a single wave stamp in my MISTI stamp positioner and stamped it twice in Baby Blue ink (top), twice in Sky Blue ink (middle), and twice in Navy ink (bottom).  I simply moved the paper approx 1/4" each time I stamp to get a row of waves with an ombre look.

To finish the card, I added a sentiment with black ink and cut out a palm tree that I embellished with brown pearls.

    I'm a big fan of the CAC backgrounds too, yet I rarely think to layer them! This is brilliant!!! I love how it turned out. Making a mental note to play around with layering the next time I sit down to stamp!
