IO Challenge- You Take the Cake

Greetings friends.  Today's challenge is all about cake or any of your favorite desserts.  For me, I absolutely adore this cupcake martini stamp and often use it for birthday cards.

To make today's card, I stamped the Birthday Martini E2282 onto white cardstock with black Versafine ink.  I then colored it with watercolor pencils and softened the look with a Dove Blender pen.  I edged the rim and sides of the martini with a light blue pencil to give the impression of it being made out of glass.  To finish the card, I added some gold stardust pen to the candle flame.

IO Challenge- Coffee, Tea, or Me?

I don't know about you, but I am both a coffee and tea-aholic.  Yes, the caffeine can get you through the day, but they both just taste so good!   I also love coffee and tea related items, so I really looked forward to this challenge.  I can't wait to be inspired by the other designers.

To make my card, I started with kraft cardstock and created a background with Vintage Photo and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks.  I started by rubbing the two colors of ink onto a  craft mat and spritzed them wtih water. I then dabbed the kraft cardstock into the puddles of ink. Next, I dried the paper with a heat gun while randomly misting the paper with water.  The extra water helped bring out the "oxide" look of the inks.  Once I got the look I wanted, I stamped the Impression Obsession Coffee Ring image onto the background to give the background a coffee/distressed feel.

Here is a close up of the background:

To finish the card, I added the Happily Caffeinated sentiment and  Coffee Pot images to my background using black Versafine ink.

Here is a close up of the saying if you are having trouble reading it:
