You are the Best

Greetings everyone! The Impression Obsession team is busy working with the new Fall and Holiday release that will be coming your way soon, but until then, I thought I would show you a succulent image that I love (Potted Cactus F13324).  It was a fun image to watercolor with my Peerless paints, and it would be great to change out the color of the flower to fit your mood.

For the two backgrounds, I used two stamps instead of patterned papers.  The first is called Torn Notebook Paper (H9203) and I stamped it with kraft ink on kraft cardstock.  The second was the Cover a Card Medallion image (CC032) that I stamped with green ink onto green cardstock.  To finish the card, I stamped the You are the Best sentiment (B14428) with black ink.

IO Challenge- Celebrate You

I have to admit, I really love when the challenge is to make a card for yourself.  It is rather fun to choose elements that you like or ones you are in the mood to use.

Today was an unusual day for me because attended a funeral at Arlington National Cemetery for the first time.  It was incredibly moving and poignant.  Although the service was for a man who lived a good long life, you couldn't help but think about all the people who are burried there.  It is a bit overwhelming.

When it then came time to make a card, I was in the mood to make something with bright, neon colors.  I needed something that was a lot lighter and fun.  I also chose a sentiment that really spoke to me...especially today.

For the background, I combined two different Cover a Card backgrounds- Rolling Waves (CC123) and Circle Fusion 2 (CR002).  I then added some leaves in green ink (Silhouette 2 E5552) and some neon butterflies cut from the Butterflies Set dies ( DIE046-A).  To finish the card, I added some stickles to the butterflies for sparkle and added the Practice Happy Thinking sentiment (D14256).

IO Challenge- Party Time

Who doesn't like a good party?  Today is all about celebrations of every kind.  Last week I taught a class using Cover a Card backgrounds and PanPastel chalks.  I always challenge my students to make cards with the backgrounds we create, so I am sharing the one I made into a finished card.

For the background, I used white cardstock and sponged it with three colors of PanPastels.  I then stamped the Cells Cover a Card background (CC169) on top with Versamark ink and sponged the stamped background with the same three colors of chalks.  It gave the background a nice tone on tone effect.

For the Party part of the card, I used the brand new All in One Frames Rectangle Die (DIE291-WW), which included both the frame and the oval on the card.  I stamped a saying from the Let Them Eat Cake clear set (CL320).

For the drinks, I used dies from the Mixed Drinks die set (DIE185-H).  I used Copic markers to color the outside of the glasses and used chalk scraps for the inside of the drinks.  To finish the card, I added some sequins for sparkle.  After all, it isn't a party without sparkle!
