Impression Obsession- Old is New

Greetings friends.  Today, some of the IO designers are showing older stamps on their blogs today.  I thought I would share one that works for handling the crazy times we live in. If you would like a full list of participants, you can find hem over on the Impression Obsession blog.

To make the card, I stamped my background onto XPressIt cardstock using black Memento ink and colored it with Copic markers.  It is rather hard to tell from the picture, but I added just a bit of Wink of Stella to the bottom of each cloud to make them sparkle.  As a finishing touch, I added a sentiment from my favorite IO word set.  It is called "Words for Art," and I find that the set has really beautiful sayings for cards.

Impression Obsession Die Cut Obsession

Greetings fiends.  I wanted to share a card today highlighting one of the Impression Obsession dies.  If you would like to see a list of all the designers with die-cut card samples today, you can find a list over on the Impression Obsession blog.

Anyone else feel like they have been more prickly lately?  I'm just hoping I don't need to make a batch of these cards.

Impression Obsession has a new die set with an assortment of cacti and pots that looks like this:
https://shrsl.com/2ch35
I chose the cactus and pot I wanted and then added them to a background I created by placing watercolor paint at the top of some 140lb watercolor paper and let drip down the front.  I spritzed it with a little extra water so that the paint would become a bit fainter and disperse more.  I wanted to make sure that my die and sentiment would show up over the background.  For the bottom of the card, I added a bit of brown chalk to create a ground.

Don't forget that tomorrow is the last day of the Impression Obsession sale in case there is any die or stamp you have been wanting to get:

Impression Obsession Sale and 2 Minute Card

https://shrsl.com/2cgjs

Heads up guys!  There is a big sale over on the Impression Obsession site in case there was anything you were hoping to get.

Here is a link to the site- Impression Obsession

As an inspiration, I thought I would share a 2 minute card with you today:

I love this card becuase it is my go-to "oh my gosh, I need a card now" card.  I stamp it with my favorite tree that I think looks like Zentangle and then add my sentiment of choice.  As  a finishing touch, I add a smidge of color with a grey colored pencil at the bottom.  No layers, no coloring, black ink...done!

I have talked about my love of all things watermelon for summer before (well, except the taste).  I was so excited when IO came out with a new watermelon die.  It even includes the seeds! Now I don't have to create my own seed stamps to use.

To make the card, I cut out all the pieces and assembled the watermelons.  The set comes with a die to make it look like a piece is bitten out of the watermelon slice.  I chose to use it on only one of the tree watermelons.  To finish the card, I added my sentiment with black ink.

IO Challenge- On the Farm

Greetings friends.  The latest IO challenge is called "On the Farm."  If you would like to read more about the challenge, learn about how you can join, and see a list of participating designers, you can find everything over on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Once I saw the theme of the latest challenge, I immediately knew I wanted to use the Animal Stack Silhouette.  I think it is hilarious.  The four animals are already stacked together, so you don't have to line them up yourself.  I have seen the image paired with sentiments about group strength (which is fantastic), but I knew I wanted to pair it with something silly.  I chose one of the sentiments from a clear stamp set called "Mondays." It has a lot of humorous sentiments that I have used on other cards.  It is fair to say it is a favorite.

To make the card, I used a circle mask to color a yellow sun (Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide) and blue sky (Salty Ocean).  I used Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink for the ground and added my animals and sentiment onto the card with black Versafine ink.  Quick, easy, and it made me laugh.  Those are my favorite things in a card.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you join our challenge.
