IO Challenge- Tickled- Funny Cards

Greetings friends.  Do you need a little laugh right about now?  I don't think you could have a better challenge than one that brings a little joy into our lives.  If you would like to learn more about the challenge as well as see a list of the participating designers, please visit the Impression Obsession blog.

This sentiment made me laugh out loud the first time I saw it.  I have to say, it can be rather true.

To make the card, I started with 140lb paper and let some watercolor paints blend together to make a colorful background.  When it dried, I stamped it with some little girls and my sentiment using black Versafine ink.  Simple and amusing!

Impression Obsession Digital Stamps- Including FREE images

Greetings friends.  You may or may not know this, but Impression Obsession is starting to offer digital images for sale.  Now, all of the Gary Robertson images are available to download, resize any way you want, print, and color.  Since a lot of people who follow me are also in Virginia, I just want to point out if you go to the "Country Scenes" tab of the Gary section, there are images of Colonial Williamsburg as well as Monticello.  I know sometimes people like to use local images to really personalize their cards.  Under the miscellaneous tab, there is an image of the Rotunda from the University of Virginia.  I have used it for several graduation cards.  There are also some FREE Gary images to get you started.

As an exciting addition, Lindsay Ostrom and Nola Chandler have designed a series of images with the Coronavirus in mind.  All of these images are FREE.  Some are encouraging and some are humorous.  I used one of Nola's images in my bunny card above.  Isn't he cute?! I love him.  I printed out my bunny/sentiment onto white cardstock and then colored him with Copic markers.  Here is a close up of the coloring:

If you are looking for something to try, there are lots of fun images to color!

PS...here is a graduation card I made using the Rotunda stamp I mentioned:

Greetings friends.  Welcome to the last day of the summer stamp release blog hop.  For the last day, I thought I would share a couple of floral cards:

For my first card, I used the new Cover a Card Background called Peony Pair.  I had to trim it down to fit onto a card, but I really like wide open spaces for coloring.  I stamped the flowers in black Versafine ink onto 140lb watercolor paper and then painted it with some Peerless watercolor paints.  To finish the card, I added words from the same clear stamp set I used yesterday on my "gratitude" card.  Can you tell it has become a favorite?

For my second card, I used an image called Wildflowers.  The flowers and sun are both part of the same image. Once again, I stamped it onto 140lb watercolor paper with black Versafine ink and painted it with Peerless Watercolors.  As a final touch, I added a best friends sentiment.

Finally, this has nothing to do with the new release.  I just mailed a REALLY late birthday card and used this sentiment on the envelope:

I love it so much, but I realized I had never shared it with you.  I'm sensing a theme that I am late with a lot of things!

Greetings friends.  Today I want to share two cards with you. Both of them were created by using strips of colored cardstock to create decorative backgrounds.

Card 1- Everything Feels Grey

My first card I thought was appropriate for the world we are currently living in.  It is a really nice sentiment to send to someone who might need a moment of encouragement.

To make the card, I started with a grey notecard, added my scrap strips of cardstock and then added my sentiment.  It is a really, really easy card to make.

Card 2- Gratitude Flower

For the second card, I made a background out of strips of pink and red cardstock.  I then colored the new Daisy Corner stamp with Copic markers and then fussy cut around the image.  Hint...  I hate cutting, so I didn't cut too close to the lines.  I colored any areas around the flower and leaf that were still white with a black marker and colored the areas around the stem with a green copic marker so that you couldn't see the white.  To finish the card, I added my sentiment on top of a banner die cut.

Greetings friends!  I am so happy you stopped by today.  Today I wanted to share a series of cards that I made using some of the new "adulting" clear stamp phases.  They are fantastic! Times are really tough right now for all of us, so I thought these cards would be fun to send to friends or family who might need a pick me up.

One of the things I would like to point out about the cards today is that I used the same background stamp for all of them (Spiral Tiles CC384).  I simply changed the color of ink and paper to get very different looks.  I kept the layout the same though...just in case I wanted to give them away as a card set/gift.  I think having the cards match in some way makes for a much more cohesive look.  Plus, then you don't have to keep coming up with different layout ideas!

I listed the stamp sets for the phrases I used after each of the cards

Card 1- Pink

Card 2- Orange

Mondays CL1030
Card 3- Yellow

Card 4- Green

 Card 5- Teal

Card 6- Purple

I hope you enjoyed these cards!  The sentiments definitely make me smile.  Do you have a favorite?

IO Challenge- Easter Fun

Greetings friends.  Are you making Easter cards this year?  The latest Impression Obsession challenge is for you!  If you want to see a list of all the participating designers as well as information on joining the challenge, be sure to check out the Impression Obsession blog.

For those of you who are familiar with my cards, you know I am all about mixing and matching the Impression Obsession Cover a Card backgrounds.  I chose two backgrounds for this card that featured weaving patterns since baskets are definitely a wonderful part of Easter.

To make the card, I stamped my bunny in black Memento ink onto Xpress cardstock and then colored it with Copic markers.  For the backgrounds, I stamped the Diagonal Weave pattern with Goldenrod ink and stamped it on white cardstock.  I also stamped the Basket Weave pattern onto white cardstock using brown Versafine ink.  After layering all the pieces, I stamped my sentiment in black Memento ink and colored the letters with a prismacolor pencil.  As a finishing touch, I popped up the bunny and die cut carrot using some foam tape.
