Birthday Fishes

Greetings friends.  It is my turn over on the Outside the Box blog today, and I chose to talk about watercoloring dies with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I paired the markers with the new Memory Box Serene Goldfish die.  Here is a closeup:

If you would like to read more about the process, you can view the whole process here:

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Old Is New- Easter Card

Greetings friends.  Today we many of the Impression Obsession designers are revisiting some of our older stamps using new projects.  There is often a lot of hype over new products, but what about old favorites?

For my card today, I wanted to make a card that could be used for Easter but that could also be used year-round:

To make the card, I stamped the bunny onto white cardstock using black Memento ink and then colored her with Copic markers.  Here is a close up of the coloring:

I cut out the bunny using an oval die and then sponged some Dusty Concord Distress ink around the edges.  For the bottom of the card, I used some Umber PanPastel chalk.  As a finishing touch, I added my sentiment and layered everything onto a background I created out of watercolor paper, Distress Oxide inks and a whole lot of water.

IO Challenge- Happy Easter

Do you make Easter cards?  Have you started them yet?  If not, then I hope you will find a lot of inspiration with this latest challenge.

For my card today, I stamped the Bun Bun Bunny and Hoppy Easter onto 140lb watercolor paper with Versafine ink.  Next, I colored everything with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and softened the color with a waterbrush.  To add an extra embellishment, I die cut a carrot and added some neutral twine.

The background was created by stamping the new Branches Cover a Card onto a green notecard.  I absolutely LOVE this background!  I am going to use it year round by changing the color of ink that I use.

IO Challenge- Sending Hugs

Greetings friends.  Today is all about sending hugs to people...in friendship, sympathy, etc..  These are probably really good cards to have on hand.  Don't forget to visit the Impression Obsession blog to see a list of designers who are participating in the challenge and I encourage you to join us with your own "sending hugs" card.  You could win a gift certificate!

Today I want to share some advice from Mr. Rogers.  I don't care how old you are, Mr Rogers always had some good advice.

To make the card, I stamped the Leaves Silhouette multiple times on green cardstock using Sharmrock ink and once again on cream cardstock using Mint colored ink.  I cut out a rectangle in the green cardstock and popped it up on the cream cardstock using foam tape.  To give the window a pore polished look, I stamped the sentiment onto acetate and glued it behind the window.  I tried to take a picture from the side, but the acetate really picked up the glare.

I hope you will join us in the challenge!
