Impression Obsession and Chameleon Pens

For those of you who know me, you know that I absolutely love coloring.  I was really drawn to the new Dot Flowers E17025 because I knew it would work well with all sorts of coloring mediums...copics, watercolor pencils, Prismacolors, Twinkling H20's, etc.  In this case, I wanted to practice getting a gradient of color with my Chameleon pens.

For this card, the two flowers are both colored with the same PR4 Purple Grape pen.  I then added some of the NU3 Fawn marker on top of the one flower to give it some golden tones.  To accentuate the stems, I traced them with the YG3 Spring Meadow pen.

Of course, I am now dying to try the same flowers in yellow to make them look like black eyed susans.  A coloring fanatic's work is never done!

IO Challenge- Sparkle and Shine

Who needs a little sparkle and shine today?  I know it has been so dreary here, that I could use a lttle bling and bright myself!

For this card, I used the Large Butterfly (L17021) as well as the new Large Speck Cover a Card background (CC196).

To add a little sparkle, I added some Stickles over the wings:

Memory Box Butterflies

IMG_0745

Greetings!  Today was my day to post on the Outside the Box blog to show you some of the new Memory Box products.  If you want to get the full set of instructions, but sure to head over there to see the full post and for the chance to win this beautiful die.

For my card, I chose to use the detailed Fairyland butterflies die, some glitter, and some Copic markers.  Yes, you can color directly onto glitter using Copic markers!

Here is a close up of the glitter and markers:

It is a really easy technique that works well with detailed dies.  I hope you will give it a try.  If you are in the DC area, I will be teaching this card tomorrow night in my Memory Box new release class.
I hope to see you there!

Greetings on  Day 4 of the hop!  For today's card, I made a card with some of my favorite new products.   I chose a saying from a new Impression Obsession designer (Yvonne Blair) that makes me smile and added a Cover a Card background that I love.  I then added my favorite coloring medium (Copics) and chose a color scheme that appeals to me.  I thought about creating a grunge background to coordinate with the style of the font, but I really liked the graphic quality of the circles.  What is up with all this "me, me, me" in this card you ask?  Well, today is my birthday, and sometimes you just have to do a little something with yourself in mind!

Products used:
Cover a Card- Random Circles CC200
Saying- My Own World D17010

Hi guys!  Today I want to talk about layering Cover a Card stamps to build up a background.  For my card, I started with a kraft notecard and stamped the Calico background on top (CC188) with brown pigment ink.

I liked the Calico a lot, but it looked really regimented for the card I was designing.  I decided to add the Lg. Speck background (CC196) on top of it using the same brown ink.  You can really see the difference you get by adding a second pattern to the mix.  You could use two different inks for this technique for a completely different look.

Next, to tie in with my coffee theme, I stamped the Coffee Ring image (E13235) onto my background with Hero Arts Latte ink (perfect name, right?)

For the finished card, I added the Coffee Time stamp (H777)) and the Pour Sip Sigh saying (B13250).

Have a great day!

Today I wanted to show you another of the new Cover a Card backgrounds. This time I used the Metal background CC205. I plan to use this backrgound with metallic colors in the future, but for now, I just liked the swirling texture it gives you and used it for a monochromatic card. I stamped it with Colorbox Chalk Azurite ink onto a light blue notecard. I then added the new Flower Silhouette stamp H16082.

I absolutely love the new floral stamp. It just seems to be enough on its own.. With that in mind, I made a second card that I am calling my "30 second card." I literally took two stamps and one ink pad to make a card. No embellishments. No layers. I don't know if I have ever done that before. The best thing is that I was really pleased with the results.

For my cards today, I am sharing two cards from my quick and easy Valentine's Day card class.  I'm all about being able to mass-produce cards!  With that in mind, I try to make Valentine's Day cards that could be given to anyone special in your life, whether it is a significant other, parent, sibling, friend, etc.

For the first card, I went with a vellum overlay.  It is been quite a while since I have done that.  I added the heart strip of paper for decoration and also to cover up my tape.
Items used:
Impression Obsession So Very Loved B13276
Impression Obsession Chalk Heart Large F9508

IO Challenge- Winter Chill

Happy New Year everyone!  Is it chilly where you are?  It isn't too bad here.  However, I am always in the mood for a little cocoa to help fight against the chills.

For today's card, I used paired the Comfort Cocoa E8612 image with the coordinating Comforting Cocoa B8613 saying.  I colored the cocoa with some Peerless watercolor paint, cut out the image, and popped it up with some foam tape.  For the background, I tore some white paper to look like a snowbank and added some Stickles to the top of the "snow" as well as to the whipped cream.  Here is a close up so that you can see the sparkle:
